BENEFITS OF THE MASTERCLASS SERIES

Providing you the tools you need to succeed

PRACTICAL

Teaching theory is fine, but usually not a good way to teach practice techniques. The Advocacy Club Masterclass Series presents techniques that are actionable - by formula.  Do this, then this, and avoid that.  Solid techniques that experienced lawyers take for granted.

STEP BY STEP

The Advocacy Club Masterclass Series presents its techniques such that each builds on the previous ones.
While each course can be taken as a standalone, together they present a compelling foundation of skills for any lawyer.

CPD

Accepted by the Law Society of Ontario as substantive continuing professional development, check with your Law Society or Bar Association for qualification for CPD obligation in of your jurisdiction.

Say About Our Courses

"The Advocacy Club provides practical strategies that are immediately applicable to the practice of law. I learned skills that I always wanted, but did not know where to find. It has changed my approach to case analysis and how to more effectively conduct direct and cross-examinations."
Monick Grenier
"All new lawyers ought to join the Advocacy Club. Day to day practice can be overwhelming, especially as a first-year lawyer. The training has helped me think critically about identifying strengths and weaknesses when structuring arguments. The instructors provide constructive feedback to participants and are highly organized. I look forward to the next program!"
Alana Guy
"Excellent how to do it workshop on interviewing, case preparation, examination and cross, argument and closing statements. The best advocacy professional learning program involving information, application of information, practice opportunities and constructive feedback. This course answers your advocacy needs on how to prepare a case, question a witness, organize your evidence and make final arguments."
Hugh Connelly
"Your boot camp had been really helpful in helping me do case briefs for my classes. The boot camp also helps boost confidence for oral assignments or proceedings. The boot camp is very beneficial to those who want to learn direct examination and cross examination. The camp helps students see a different perspective when they read a case and to only pick out the important points. The boot camp has changed my 2L experience and has made my advocacy improve."
Mursal Qiami
"The Advocacy Club Boot Camp for Law School was a wonderful head start to my legal career. I was part of the experimental 1L student group that was testing how effective the Boot Camp could be for those not yet called to the Bar, and it was effective. The strategies and techniques that my colleagues and I learned from the Boot Camp have propelled us to stand out from our classmates. Even a full year following the lessons, the strategies that John Hollander taught us remain unique in comparison to the standard methods taught in Law School."
 Steven Rayson
"Participating in the Advocacy Club’s Law Student Bootcamp has been one of the highlights of my second year of law school. I have learned a great deal about litigation skills and oral advocacy and I really enjoyed the hands-on approach to learning where we were able to immediately apply and practice the skills that we had learned each week. I was also able to use the skills I learned in the bootcamp in my classes, particularly the case analysis and case presentation components. The material is practical for law students in any year of study and I would highly recommend partaking in the course!"
